A disaster can occur unexpectedly, anywhere, at any time and can take many forms, e.g. flooding, storms, transport incident etc.
To comply with the Civil Contingencies Act we have put plans in place and train our staff in order to respond in an emergency, for example we may be required to set up a rest centre for people that have been evacuated from their homes. Our aim is to ensure that we are prepared for any major emergency, are able to respond to support the emergency services as required, and can assist those affected.
We are part of the which provides a multi-agency response to major emergencies in the county.
