All planning authorities have to produce a Local Plan. The current Local Plan consists of a number of documents, which set out an overall strategy to guide development across the District until 2026. The Local Plan guides future development and sets out policies, against which planning applications are considered. This has replaced the 'Old' Local Plan which was adopted in 2005.

Forest of Dean District Core Strategy

The Cinderford Northern Quarter Area Action Plan (CNQAAP) was adopted on 23 February 2012.

The Allocations Plan was adopted on 28 June 2018.
The Allocations Plan shows how the Core Strategy will be implemented and shows how the housing requirements agreed as part of its examination will be met. The Allocations Plan includes sites for housing, employment, shopping and other built development as well as identifies areas that need to be protected including the green spaces within settlements and sites of ecological and historical importance.

The proposals contained in the Allocations plan, the Northern Quarter AAP and the Core Strategy are shown on the Policies Map, below. However, this map is currently being updated to also show the policies of the adopted Waste and Minerals plans and also the Neighbourhood Development plans that are currently made.

They are part of the development plan and sit alongside the Local Plan and are used to influence planning decisions. Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs)
The Council has adopted four supplementary planning documents to complement the Local Plan:

Consultation Draft Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning document (2019)
The council is in the process of revising its affordable housing supplementary planning document (SPD).
Since the current SPD was adopted a new core strategy has been adopted whilst the government has published a new National Planning Policy Framework (‘NPPF’ 2019) and Planning Policy Guidance. The SPD has therefore been reviewed to ensure that it complies with relevant national planning policy and guidance and adopted local plan policy. The revised SPD will replace the previous adopted SPD and will supplement Joint Core Strategy policy 5 housing.
The purpose of the draft SPD is to increase the delivery of affordable housing in the Forest of Dean to meet the large level of local need, which is predominantly for affordable rented accommodation. Key aspects of the draft SPD includes guidance on on-site provision of affordable housing and when it is appropriate to seek commuted sums for off-site provision, and guidance on viability assessment and the publication of viability information.The consultation commenced on Wednesday 3 July 2019 and closed on Wednesday 14 August 2019.

Statement of Community Involvement 2018
The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets out how the Council will involve the community in preparing and revising all local planning documents and in making decisions on planning applications and other related applications. It is currently being reviewed.
Local Development Scheme (LDS)
前锋棋牌Council is in the preliminary stages of developing a new Local Plan. This planning process is referred to as “Plan 41” which will eventually provide a new Local Plan for the Forest of Dean district, replacing the current Local Development Framework.

This planning process has already begun and is expected to run until 2023, when a new Local Plan is scheduled to be adopted, which will guide and control development in the district up to the year 2041.

Monitoring - Authorities report
前锋棋牌So that we know whether our plans and policies are having the desired effect, we are required to produce regular Authorities reports formerly known as annual monitoring reports. As well as looking at the impact of policies, the report also considers whether the Local Plan timetable is being achieved.
